Four Marks News is a volunteer run monthly magazine. The support the magazine receives from the advertisers who pay to appear in the magazine, enables us to provide donations to local causes and groups.
The cover price of 50p has been unchanged since 2003 and, thanks to the support received from advertisers and the 500+ readers each month, profits continue to accrue. These, plus profits from sale of the Walks Book, are used for the benefit of villagers. Here are a few things Four Marks News has recently provided funds towards in the last 18 months:
Funding of replacement housing for Defibrilator
Funding of printing of advertising posters and leaflets for Four Marks Care
Purchase of laptops for St Luke's Hospice
Purchase of video camera and Tripod for Four Marks School
Advertising and printing costs for Charity Plant Sale in July 2021
Advertising and printing costs for Driveway Sale in July 2021
A pony for Broadlands Riding for the Disabled
Incubators for Hart Wildlife
Visualisers for Four Marks School
The purchase of a new boiler at the Village Hall for use by the Lunch Club
A line painting machine for the Football Club
Energy efficient lighting at the Benian Pavilion
Picnic bench and IPads for Heydeys School
Prizes are provided for the annual poetry and St. George’s Day painting competitions at Four Marks School.
